Training:
I received my Bachelors from Fairhaven College
where I studied with Dana
Jack, an international author specializing
in the psychology of women. I also studied Environmental
Science and Creative Writing. I have my Master
of Arts in Counseling Psychology with an Emphasis
in Depth Psychology from Pacifica
Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, California.
Beginning in 2002, I started my clinical training
working with children and their families, and
then branched out into working with adults at
a community mental health center. I have additional
training in trauma disorders and Dialectical Behavioral
Therapy, a form of therapy which helps with emotional
regulation through the use of mindfulness meditation.
I am a registered counselor in Washington State
and am working towards obtaining my licensure.
Supervision:
I participate in consultation/supervision with
other mental health professionals to ensure the
quality of my work. I also participate in my own
personal therapy on an ongoing basis.
Experience:
I have experience working with all types of families,
individuals, and groups, including single-parent
families and those families dealing with a child
with major mental illness.
Volunteer Experience:
I have volunteered with Whatcom Hospice and HOWL
(a wildlife rehabilitation program in Lynnwood,
WA).
